Manuel Miguel is originally from Teococuilco de Marcos Pérez, a Zapotec town more than 1700 meters above sea level and nestled in the Sierra mother of Oaxaca. Alejandro Santiago, a plastic artist, friend, and teacher of Manuel Miguel, was from this town as well.
His current artistic work is a rich extension of that vital experience. Although his work has multiplied in various techniques (sculpture in metal, ceramic, wood; graphics, oil, acrylic, graphic design, etc.) his arguments always go from those interior landscapes.
With neat creativity paints like a fantastic chronicler his vertiginous fauna and flora. His painting is a permanent and decisive contribution to its people and society that promotes fundamental values.
A young countryman from his town said “this painting was born to travel the world”.
