Villa Santa Cruz invites you to experience the freedom of the open desert and beach on horseback, guided by our skilled vaqueros. Open to the public, our rides capture the true cowboy spirit of Baja.

From sunrise rides across the sand dunes, to beach rides ending at The Green Room, to magical full moon outings under the stars – every experience offers a taste of ranch life and adventure, perfect for riders of all levels.

    Morning Ride

    Ride like a Baja cowboy along untouched beaches and desert arroyos, guided by our expert horsemen. It’s a classic Baja vaquero experience with a polished touch—beautiful horses, dramatic landscapes, and the perfect blend of grit and elegance.

    • 90 minute experience, begins at 7am or 9am
    • Minimum 2 riders (at least 15 years old; if younger, please inquire)
    • Suitable for all levels of experience
    • $3200 MXN + 15% gratuity + tax per rider

    Sunset Beach Ride

    Saddle up for one of our most unforgettable Baja adventures. Depart the Villa Santa Cruz Stables just before sundown and ride out across the open desert. As the sun sinks low over the Pacific, your horse carries you on to the wide, golden beach where the sky blazes with color. The ride ends at our legendary oceanfront restaurant, The Green Room , where cold drinks await — the perfect close to a true Baja cowboy evening (choose to stay for dinner, not included, reservations required).

    • 90 min experience, 4:30pm – 6:00pm (exact timing depends on the season)
    • Minimum 2 riders (at least 15 years old; if younger, please inquire)

    ARENA GAMES

    For newer riders, we offer a 60-minute arena experience where you’ll learn essential Western riding skills, grow comfortable in the saddle, and enjoy a few classic cowboy games. It’s the perfect introduction for young riders or anyone who prefers a gentle, on-the-ranch experience without a trail ride.

    Full Moon Ride

    Once a month, when the full moon rises, we saddle up and ride out into the night. A quiet, 90-minute beach ride lit only by moonlight, the crash of the waves, and the steady hoofbeats of your horse—an unforgettable Baja adventure with just a touch of cowboy magic.

    OLD PORT PACIFIC BLUFFS TRAIL

    Saddle up for a Villa Santa Cruz adventure like no other. Your journey begins with private transport to Punta Lobos beach, where our cowboys and horses await. Ride along sweeping bluffs and turquoise ocean vistas, feeling the rhythm of Baja through every step. Mid-journey, relax at a private safari-style tent — enjoy chilled wine and a chef-prepared lunch overlooking the sea. It’s the wild west, Villa Santa Cruz style: scenic, soulful, and effortlessly luxurious.

    • 3.5 hour experience, depart Villa Santa Cruz at 9:30am (trailhead is 20 minutes south)
    • 2 riders maximum (at least 15 years old with intermediate experience) (in early 2026, up to 4 riders)

    Suez taylor

    Suez is a former FEI competitor in both Dressage and 3 day Eventing, a North American Young Rider Championship Team Member for Area IV, a USEA ICP certified instructor/ trainer, and a United States Pony Club ‘A’ Rated Horsewoman. She taught at the college level and rode for Team USA at two European Nations Cups.

    After a wide-ranging foray into international journalism and filmmaking, she established EQUUS SUR, a horse rescue and rehabilitation center in Todos Santos. Suez lives in Todos Santos with her husband and three children.
