All the way from New York City, Claire & Jack chose Villa Santa Cruz as their destination wedding location to escape the frenzied, hectic pace of city life. Here in Todos Santos, away from it all, they knew it was the perfect place to gather their most cherished friends and family, celebrate their love and connect to each other without distraction. In November 2018, in fron Real Bridet of 40 guests, they threw an epic Mexican party complete with mezcal, mariachi and churros!
A destination wedding in Todos Santos, Baja Sur at Villa Santa Cruz was the perfect antidote for Rachel & Destin after a long winter in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. With 85 guests, they said their “I do’s” as close to the Pacific Ocean as they could be, with the waves crashing behind them. Their photos, taken by the talented Dino Gomez, wonderfully captured the gorgeous golden light that swept across the property, highlighting the bride’s elegant, flowy dress and long blonde curls.
Throughout the entire wedding, you could feel the love and joy between Rachel & Destin and that only encouraged their guests to celebrate to the fullest – the dance floor was rocking and tequila shots were plentiful. They even brought their DJ all the way from Jackson Hole to ensure the party was up to their standards! And, with the arrival of a late night churro cart, the party was one for the books.

Carl & Marne’s gay wedding at Villa Santa Cruz was not only a dream come true for this awesome couple, but very personal for us as hosts. Matt, the Villa’s owner, has been friends with Carl for more than 25 years and we were honored that they wanted to get married at our place – they even asked Matt to officiate the ceremony. We hope to host more same sex weddings in the future, this was a blast!
Escaping the cold and snow in Reno, Nevada in February 2018, Carl & Marne and 45 of their closest friends and family descended on Todos Santos, Baja Sur, Mexico with one goal in mind…..fun! The fun began with the vibrant, colorful Mexican decor – bright paper flowers decorated the balconies, multi-colored pom-pom strings dressed up the wedding arch, and a costumed skeleton welcomed guests upon arrival. And, the grooms donned bright linen shirts as their wedding attire. In contrast to all this color, Carl & Marne requested that all their wedding guests wear white clothing to be a neutral backdrop for all these pops of color. With a lively mariachi, a Mexican themed photo booth, a tequila shot welcome toast and cocktail napkins that proclaimed “Drunk in Love,” they built in surprises for their guests every step of the way.
Not only was the wedding energetic and bright, but the couple also thought through every detail, making their celebration so personal and intimate. They designed a beautiful logo that was carried from their invitations to their website and then to the place settings, they engraved the words “I do!” and “Me too!” on their dinner forks, and hung a colorful pashmina on the chair of all female guests. In honor of Marne’s parents who are deceased, they created a lovely sign that sat on an empty chair to honor their memory.

As avid surfers who live here in Baja Sur (down in Cabo San Lucas), Brenda & Nando wanted their dream wedding in our little surf town of Todos Santos. Villa Santa Cruz was the perfect destination for their big day, especially because it is close to one of their favorite surf breaks, La Pastora, just a 10 minute walk down the beach. With 120 guests in attendance in December 2017, many flying all the way from the groom’s native Spain, they were ready to celebrate and dance long into the night!
They chose to have their ceremony on the beach, framed by Bismarckia Palm leaves, with toes in the sand, while guests watched on from hay bale pews. The endless white sand beach was a beautiful backdrop for their portraits. They feasted on oysters during cocktail hour and danced under the stars at the reception, with the light of a full moon – beautiful!

Greg & Elise hosted an elegant destination wedding weekend in November 2017, coming all the way from Australia! With 40 of their closest friends and family cheering them on, they exchanged vows under the warm Baja sun and partied into the night. Bookended by pool parties the night they arrived and the day after their Mexico wedding, they created a celebration to remember in Todos Santos.
We loved the documentary style approach of photography from Rick Collins. He captured such intimate wedding moments – writing wedding vows, smiles at the wedding ceremony and toasts at the wedding feast.

Alex and Nadine traveled all the way from Munich, Germany, with a small group of family and friends, to celebrate their wedding at Villa Santa Cruz in May 2016. They were first married on the beach, then escorted by a 9 piece mariachi to the Villa’s Roof Terrace where they enjoyed cocktails and dancing, and then dined and danced under the Villa’s bistro lights and a spectacular full moon. Ready for yoga in Todos Santos? Take a deep breath and stretch and flex your way to outer and inner strength with a private vinyasa flow yoga session at Villa Santa Cruz. An instructor will customize your experience to suit your preferences and skill level. Based on your desired schedule, you may choose a morning class on the beach, with toes in the sand – the best place for sun salutations. During your beach practice, you’ll likely see fisherman in pangas heading out for the morning’s catch, whales spouting just off shore, or little sand crabs burying themselves in the wet sand. Or, you may prefer an evening candlelit session on the Villa’s Roof Terrace, glimpsing the sunset as you swan dive into upward dog.

Villa Santa Cruz offers many private spaces for an individualized meditation practice. Consider the balcony of your room or bungalow, the Crow’s Nest of the oceanfront palapa, or poolside on a teak lounge. Whichever locale you choose, you can ditch your pre-recorded “nature” soundtracks from meditation apps as you’ll have the real thing to guide you through. Just close your eyes, inhale deeply, and take in the sounds of the rolling waves, chirping birds and rustle of the wind through palm leaves. Enjoy the simplicity of nature’s symphony.
Alternatively, you may prefer a drop-in class in the town of Todos Santos. Whether you are new to yoga or have an experienced practice, the beautiful studio, Cuatro Vientos, has several weekly yoga classes to suit your style and level. Drop-in pricing, $100 – $150 pesos per class.

From November to April, here at Villa Santa Cruz we are very fortunate to be able to see the migration of gray whales and humpback whales. These magnificent creatures travel 6,000 miles from their summer home in Alaska to spend warm winters in the Baja waters. Whether you are having breakfast in the dining room, drinking coffee on the balcony of your room or admiring the sunset from the Terrace, without a doubt you will be able to glimpse their fins (tails) and they will see them play and jump over the sea. Nature offers us a unique show!
